So odd title right? Yea its kind of true, but not really (hey a Big O fan can dream can't he?). In case you didn't catch it a while back on TMZ Greg Oden was mistake for Lebron James outside of Boa Night Club in West Hollywood a few weeks back. I can see where the camera man might have made a mistake, but then again Oden's almost a half a foot taller than Lebron and has a substantially fewer number of tattoos. The lovely Libra (she bout that "scales" life) from MIA is the 11th of 16 children. Some of you may know her from her WorldStar videos with ex-boyfriend Joe Budden but I remember her from the Freak-A-Leek video, which made 2004 one of the best years of my life. She's a mother of two, but no baby weight here, registering jaw-dropping measurements 34-24-40. At 5'7" 130lbs, you may joke about her name, but when it comes to that body, the 5'7" 130lb Triple D carrying aspiring actress is no laughing matter! He specializes in gospel and R&B beats, but also dabbles in the Hip-Hop field as well. The Greensboro,NC native is not just affiliated with Ill Vibez productions, but serves as the founder. He can also teach you a thing or two in the gym, benching numbers higher than your average personal trainer. He's worked with some of Chapel Hill's finest artists and has been featured in numerous YouTube beat competitions. The dark chocolate ebony princess Bria Myles who some of you may have seen on MediaTakeout a short while back. This 27 year old LA native has been blazing not just the west coast, but the east coast as well since her King Magazine cover back in 2006. So today I decided to throw my readers a change up from the last couple music posts I've delivered. This past weekend was the 4th of July so Happy Independence Day to all of my patriots out there but on the 2nd I attended the "Reid Family Reunion" which was the first one they'd had since 1999. Now Reid is my mother's mother's side of the family to which the majority of now resides in Zebulon,NC. So in a caravan of vehicles my immediate family, and a few of my aunts and cousins made the trip from Wilson to the home of the Carolina Mudcats around 3:30pm. The cookout was at my great aunt Margie's house which is off of a dirt path on the borderline between Wake & Franklin County. Throughout the day there had to be somewhere close to over 100 of my relatives who floated in and out. Cousin B.B. (Margie's daughter) was the cup sergeant during the day. An interesting title might you wonder, she made sure that everyone had a name on their cup so that no one would lose theirs, her and my mother felt it a great idea, I along with the rest of the family felt it rather trivial. Anyway we ate some good food, took some pictures based on age groups with the 40+ range being something like 95-96 Bulls. There was laughter all day long and a committee to plan another reunion two years from now, because in all honesty the majority of the people there probably won't make it until 2020.

Anyways here's a run down of some of my more interesting family members I encountered. My younger cousin Patience came out dressed just like her friend in a club outfit complete with halter top, leggings, and flats. You'd never guess they were only 13. My great aunt Clara Mae taught me that by folding up a fabric softener sheet in my shoe I could keep gnats away. My cousin Niecy had recently gotten out of the Army after serving 25 years and three tours in Iraq, and is now an ROTC teacher at Garinger High School which just as dangerous. I met my cousins Jay & Darius who are around my age, and they were just pretty cool peoples in general. I met my cousin Yasmin who is a rising senior at Spelman so all the more power to her! My cousin Gilbert who's probably pushing 60 by now felt GPS systems could not be trusted and that my NikeID Air Max 95s were better suited for Mr. Brown and that I should find some pants to match. My cousin Larry told me how he regained face with the police department, now working for them after serving time for "accessory to theft & murder" and his brother William who worked at the Pentagon for 1 year then quit.

Now for the most interesting story of the day, y cousin B.B. really wanted me to meet my cousin Armaney (not too sure of the spelling) who attends NCCU. I wasn't allowed to leave until I met her (odd right?) and she didn't arrive until pretty late in the afternoon. Anyway we introduced ourselves with that awkward "OMG we're cousins so now what do you expect, us to be best friends instantly" hand shake moment before she went to fix a plate. B.B. continued to pressure me to get Armaney's phone number (B.B. is Armaney's mother by the way to clear up some probably rather pressing questions). So I followed Armaney inside and took a seat at the dinner table next to a rather large individual. Now his name was Boo--(No idea what followed the 1st syllable) and he was about 6'4" 280lbs of barbecue chicken destroying monster. He told me he wasn't family but Aarmaney's boyfriend, which shortened my trip inside because explaining the whole "cousins networking connection" thing would've been too complicated for me at my heightened state of apathy. Anyway I left and had a fun car ride home with the parentals who began having their post relative interaction follow-up. All in all I had a pretty good day.
